September 12 – October 5 : : Vernissage: September 12, 6-8 pm

Harmony and Hardship
Crombie McNeil, photography

Vernissage:
Sept. 12, 6-8 pm

Landscapes and portraits in black & white.

Crombie is an Ottawa born career photographer with world-wide assignments ranging from combat in Vietnam, to photojournalism inside the Arctic Circle, Olympic Games and fashion photography with photo credits in Time, Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, ELLE and Chatelaine.

He has an enduring passion for black & white images as they have a visual simplicity with an timeless quality.

Crombie taught at Sheridan and Algonquin colleges in the mid 70's. He has been featured in numerous TV programs, received national/ international awards, published two books and his photography has been exhibited in galleries across Canada.

“My landscapes are nostalgic with a perspective to showing beauty and tranquility that often go unnoticed. It is my hope that these photos impart a sense of tranquility and spirituality. The 'street people' are gutsy without pretense - to photograph them you must first gain their trust. I'd like the viewer to see them as simply people and feel an affinity with them.”
